A6 Steering Board meets in Rome to discuss future ATM priorities

The A6 Steering Board met in Rome to discuss key strategic developments shaping the future of European Air Traffic Management and to align priorities for the months ahead.

A central focus of the meeting was the future of SESAR beyond 2027. Building on ongoing exchanges at European level, the Steering Board assessed the current positioning of the Alliance and confirmed the need for an integrated approach and appropriate funding to support continued innovation, modernisation and coordinated deployment across the European ATM network.

The Board also received updates on the implementation of Common Project 2 (CP2) and the development of the New Service Delivery Model (NSDM). Discussions focused on current progress, key enablers and the importance of maintaining a harmonised approach to the transformation of Europe’s ATM infrastructure.

The Steering Board exchanged views with Mariagrazia La Piscopia, Executive Director of the SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) on the achievements resulting from the CP1 implementation and the lessons learned for the evolution of the deployment governance, strategic priorities and the future implementation landscape for ATM modernisation in Europe. The exchange provided an opportunity to align perspectives on how the European ATM community can best support effective delivery and long-term objectives.

The discussions once again highlighted the value of close cooperation among Europe’s leading air navigation service providers. Through continued collaboration and constructive engagement with European stakeholders, the A6 Alliance contributes to the modernisation, resilience and efficiency of the European ATM system.
