DFS takes the Chair at A6 Alliance
Professor Klaus-Dieter Scheurle, Chairman and Chief Executive of Germany’s DFS, is the new Chairman of the Steering Board of the A6 Alliance of European air navigation service providers (ANSP).
He takes over from Ignacio González, Air Navigation Director of ENAIRE, who chaired the A6 through 2015. Under his watch, the A6 Alliance was joined by the COOPANS Alliance of ANSPs for work associated with the SESAR Deployment Manager and SESAR 2020 R&D; and by the B4 Consortium of ANSPs on work associated with SESAR 2020 R&D. PANSA, of Poland, also became a full member of the A6 Alliance.
Professor Scheurle said: “I am delighted to take the helm of the A6 Alliance at such a crucial time for our industry. With the SESAR Deployment Manager now fully operational, this is a turning point in air traffic management to help create the Single European Sky.
“The A6 Alliance has been instrumental in drawing the European ATM industry together and I look forward to the future opportunities for our partnership in helping achieve the wider European vision.”
The A6 Strategy Board, responsible for day to day running of the Alliance work, was chaired through 2015 by Ralf Bertsch of DFS, who now hands over to María Luz de Mateo García of ENAIRE.
